The NEC Aurora Tsubasa is a vector computer in the tradition of the SX series. Compared to SX-9 and SX-ACE, it is a new ISA with some major changes but also a lot in common. The vector processor has the form factor of a accelerator card, and is plugged as a PCI card into a server. The card is called VE for Vector Engine, the host hosting the card is called VH for Vector Host.

HLRS installation consists of one rack with 64 VE nodes in 8 VH.
