Welcome to HWW System CRAY XE6 named Hermit

  1. A good starting point for this System will be Cray Application Developer's Environment User's Guide (PDF). This guide describes the software environment and tools used to develop, debug, and run applications on Cray XT and Cray XE systems. It is intended as a general overview and introduction to the Cray system for new users and application programmers. The information contained in this guide is of necessity fairly high-level and generalized, as the Cray platform supports a wide variety of hardware nodes as well as many different compilers, debuggers, and other software tools.

    1. The next document Workload Management and Application Placement for the Cray Linux Environment (PDF) inherits some end-user-specific information formerly provided in Cray XT Programming Environment User's Guide. If users need to launch and execute applications using the Cray Linux Environment (CLE) 3.1 release and are looking for a reference, this document is a good start.
