<!--{{Warning|text=

The next generation of Cray supercomputer Cray XC40 (Hornet) has been installed and is in production.

The Cray XE6 (Hermit) will stay available until December 2014, that means we expect users to migrate to the new system as soon as possible.
The currently used disk subsystems will stay available on the new system, which means that no data transfer is necessary.
With the new system, users need to recompile their applications using the Cray XC40 environment. All academic projects will be available onto the new system.

The installation of Hornet (Step 2) is not yet finished. At the moment this system is a small pre-installation of the installation step 2.
